Breakthrough research by Dr. Jeffrey Fannin, Ph.D., has generated the first quantitative electroencephalograph (QEEG) brain maps showing cell phones’ dramatic effects on the brain’s electrical activity in adult users. In experiments conducted at the Center for Cognitive Enhancement in Glendale, Arizona, Dr. Jeffrey Fannin’s QEEGs measured brain activity in 10 adults: five women and five men using 4G iPhone 5s. To the left are some of the images Dr. Fannin created using QEEG data from the 10 subjects’ brains during testing.

(Protocols for this experiment included the use of a Vital Force Technology™ product, Clean Sweep™, to prepare the laboratory.)

Dr. Fannin notes, “Looking at important areas of the brain, a combination of all 10 brain maps of subjects using iPhones for three minutes showed excitation of the brain up to three standard deviations (SD) above normal.”

This is the first study we know of that maps the impact of electromagnetic energy on human brain rhythms. Two of the brain areas Dr. Fannin’s research analyzed, F7 and F8, (indicated with red arrows) when stimulated to the degree that these images document, may present problems with working memory, selective attention filtering, short term memory, word retrieval, spatial and visual perception, and the ability to sustain attention.

Images in the right column show that the subjects’ brain activity remained in the normal range when a Vital Force Technology™ transformer was attached to the iPhone they were using.

Since the subjects in these tests were all adults, future studies may be warranted to assess the impact of cell phones on children and adolescents.
